About Me

 

My name is Shaniya Marshall—a 23-year-old instrument rated commercial pilot, certified flight instructor, content creator, and aviation advocate from New Jersey.

 

I’m a Middle Georgia State University graduate with a B.S. in Aviation Science & Management, and the proud founder of PrettyPinkPilots™, a lifestyle and education brand I started in 2021 to encourage more women to take flight—literally.

 

I didn’t grow up knowing that aviation could be a career. What started as a childhood dream became real the moment I earned my Private Pilot License, and it’s been full throttle ever since. My long-term goal? To become an international airline captain, representing women and Black aviators on flight decks around the world.

 

But my journey hasn’t just been about flight hours.

 

Through internships, public speaking, mentoring, and media, I’ve been building in every direction—from working as a Delta Flight Operations Co-Op, to co-hosting OBAP’s Hangar Talks podcast, to launching aviation giveaways and eBooks that empower the next generation of pilots.

 

I believe representation matters—and seeing someone who looks like you in a space you dream of occupying can be the spark that changes everything. I want to be that spark.

 

Outside the cockpit, I’ve developed a love for photography and visual storytelling. My camera allows me to document the beauty of aviation, life on the ground, and the quiet moments in between.

 

My mission is to help change the stat that says only 1% of airline pilots are women—one flight, one post, and one empowered pilot at a time.
